Paschal Solutions (Paschal) founded in 2000, is a Tennessee-based nuclear engineering company headquartered in Oak Ridge, TN.  Paschal has a strong industry reputation for providing some of the top engineering consultants and tackling some of the most technically challenging projects for our customers. Paschal formed a joint venture, Mission Assurance Alliance LLC (MAA) with Longenecker & Associates, Inc. (L&A) to provide technical services to the NNSA Pantex Facility in Amarillo, TX. MAA is a named team subcontractor to Pantex M&O contractor, PanTeXas Deterrence, LLC (PXD) and as a PXD’s partner, MAA makes meaningful contributions to PXD’s success in mission assurance, nuclear safety, operations and project delivery.  

Clearance: Requires a Q clearance

Location: Onsite - Amarillo, TX 

Years of Experience: BS with 5+ years of experience. Education and/or relevant experience may be considered in placement of education and/or experience requirements. 

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Performs work in which the principles, theories, concepts of chemical process design, scale-up, energetic materials synthesis, computational modeling, simulation and general body of knowledge of engineering or science are required. 
  • Typical duties include supporting design, construction, testing, production, and operations. 
  • Other duties include preparing drawings, specifications, calculations/simulations, studies and other documents, cost estimates, and participation in verification tests. 
  • Familiarity with NNSA Supplemental Directive (SD) 413.3-7 Project Management for Non-nuclear, Non-complex Capital Asset Acquisition
  • Engineer may lead other engineers and professionals, technicians, craft workers, and laborers in projects of moderate or small scope, which are closely related to their area of technical expertise.  
  • Perform difficult and complex technical project assignments. 
  • Prepares technical specifications based on weapon requirements provided by the design agencies. 
  • Acts as a leader, advisor, or mentor, as required, in the design and application of products, processes, devices, and equipment with other engineer, scientist, and technical staff. 

Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science [Physics, or related]. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science must be from an engineering Accreditation program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET.
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1-year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Required Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Knowledge of DOE/NNSA programs and projects preferably at Pantex 
  • Understanding of NNSA missions and organization 
  • Adept at problem solving and finding/fixing problems early 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Commitment to Paschal values and ability to represent Paschal in a highly effective manner in interactions with DOE and other clients. 
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and communicate across organizations. 
  • Ability to effectively support and work effectively amongst diverse and geographically distributed staff and projects.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
