Schedule:- 12 hours/week for the first 2 weeks
- 25 hours/week for the next 6 weeks

Role Overview
The KKCF Careers Teaching Assistant supports Career Instructors in delivering high-quality instruction and guidance to high-school-aged learners. This role combines classroom facilitation, material preparation, intensive grading responsibilities, and student support to ensure an effective learning environment.

Supporting Instruction and Classroom Management (70%)- Assist with career class facilitation covering key professional development topics for teens and young adults.
- Support virtual instruction through chat management, breakout room facilitation, and direct student assistance.
- Model a culture of high expectations and a growth mindset during class sessions.
- Meet regularly with assigned Instructors to align expectations and instructional strategies.
- Review student assignments and provide timely, actionable feedback using established rubrics.
- Monitor individual student progress and needs throughout the program.
- Collaborate with KKCF Career Instructors on pedagogical approaches and resource management.
- Provide student support during designated office hours via Slack, Learning Management System (LMS), and web conferencing.
- Act as substitute facilitator when needed if an Instructor is unavailable.
- Assist with preparing high-quality instructional resources including slide decks, activities, and exercises.
- Support the management of digital learning materials in the LMS.
- Help create and refine reference materials for student use.
- Collaborate with student success specialists to address learner challenges.
- Attend weekly progress meetings with the KKCF student success team.
- Participate in scheduled Teaching and Learning team meetings.
- Meet one-on-one with the Senior Manager of Alumni Engagement.
Schedule Requirements- KKCF Class Time & Office Hours: Mondays from 10:00am - 3:30pm EST (7:00am - 12:30pm PST) from June 9, 2025 to August 22, 2025.
- Weekly hours are flexible, including standard workday hours between 9:00am - 5:00pm local time for team meetings and training.

- Previous experience teaching, coaching, or tutoring technology skills
- Experience working with youth and young adults (preferred)
- Proficiency with digital tools including Google Suite, Learning Management Systems, and virtual classroom platforms
- Comfort working with beginner-level learners and explaining technical concepts clearly
- Understanding of career education and workforce development
- Knowledge of assessment techniques and providing effective feedback
- Virtual classroom management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience developing lesson plans, hands-on learning activities, and instructional materials a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others, including actively reaching out to colleagues to support or consult on projects and maintaining a collaborative work environment

All full-time staff are expected to come into a TKH office or the field (community and industry events, including conferences or travel for work) 1-2 days per week, and the Leadership Team will be encouraged to come into a TKH office at least two times per week. There will be one consistent team day a week that will vary by team. Please note that there are some roles that may require being on-site more based on the job responsibilities.
In addition to the 1 team day, there will be weeks when the expectation is 2 days/week based on required meetings. These may include FAM meetings (the First Friday of the month), department stepbacks, professional development, retreats, events, or other purposeful reasons, as requested by your supervisor or team lead. For convenience, managers are encouraged to schedule department stepbacks and all-team stepbacks during the same week for any staff traveling into NYC.
Part time staff are not required to come into the office, but are always welcome to attend.
