Job Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant I to join our finance team. This position is crucial for maintaining our financial health and ensuring accurate reporting. The Staff Accountant I will play a key role in financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and payroll management. This person must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Assist with the daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks designed to maintain accurate general ledger activity
· Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing/posting manual journal entries, in a timely and accurate manner
· Perform reconciliations to ensure transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are resolved
· Monitor and analyze variances in financial data to identify trends and potential issues
· Foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners to ensure adequate communication around accurately recording and reporting of related areas
· Maintain detailed documentation of work product, including accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial reports, to ensure accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness
· Assist with the development of annual budgets and financial forecast; assist with external audit requests on quarterly and annual basis
· Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects and resolve issues arising from daily accounting operations for assigned areas
· Take ownership and initiative for process improvements and process documentation for assigned areas
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of general accepted accounting practices (GAAP)
· Knowledge of accounting techniques, terminology, and tools.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize for optimum efficiency. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
· Ability to interact professionally with all levels of Executives, Board Members, staff, and external stakeholders of the Company.
· Discretion and confidentiality are absolute.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, OR two to four years of proven experience in accounting.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Travel requirements as deemed necessary by the CFO
· Occasional nights and weekend work will be expected.
· Must be able to lift to 15 pounds or less at times.
