Director, Human Resources & Internal Communications
Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources & Internal Communications is a hands-on role with both strategic and operational impact. At Everlake, HR and Communications are tightly integrated-collaborating often, while still maintaining distinct responsibilities. The overall goal is to provide the human capital and communications infrastructure to ensure that Everlake becomes the first choice for insurers selling or reinsuring blocks of life and annuity business. The successful candidate will partner with both the Chief HR Officer (CHRO) and members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to execute on the various initiatives required for the organization to achieve its strategic vision. This role will report to the CHRO.

A successful individual in this role will work closely with the CHRO and all members of the ELT, as well as their direct reports, to execute the following:
HR Responsibilities
• Drive all elements of the people agenda across the organization and identify the future leaders that will make it successful. These areas include the full range of people-related items, including:
- Talent acquisition strategy and execution
- Performance management and assessment
- Compensation planning and benefits
- Talent management including employee development and succession planning
- Champion a culture of inclusion across all levels of the organization
- Management of operational HR infrastructure (in conjunction with our HR Service provider)
- HR reporting and compliance activities
• Assist in driving integration activities for HR, administration and other areas related to new business acquisitions.
• Identify opportunities for and drive efforts to improve HR and administrative processes. Ensure processes supporting the people agenda are defined, documented, and repeatable.
• Provide thought leadership, innovative ideas, and a drive to execute the right solutions by partnering and influencing business stakeholders and third parties.
• Support all efforts to promote the Everlake Culture and lead employee engagement initiatives in conjunction with the Everlake Culture Council
• Support all of the above through an effective program of internal communications.
Communications & Executive Team Support
• Oversee all aspects of internal company communications including:
- Preparation of companywide emails, intranet postings, Town Hall presentations, and similar communications
- Review of critical reports to external parties for style, consistency and tone (e.g., Board Reports, regulatory presentations, ratings presentations)
- Update and maintain internal templates, style guides, presentation guides, and other reference documents
• Assist the CEO and CHRO in managing activities of the Executive Leadership Team, including staff meetings, executive planning meetings, and similar activities
Qualifications
Education, experience, and skills:
• 10+ years HR / HR related fields, including program management of HR-related initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; may also have advanced degree
• Proven ability to interact with all levels of an organization, including senior management and the CEO
• Very strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to craft effective written communications.
• Expert skills in Word and PowerPoint required; Sharepoint experience is preferred
• Proven ability to act independently, work with agility and attention to detail, juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a varied, fast-paced environment
• Be a result-oriented, hands-on change agent with a bias for execution and process focus that embraces and helps drive continuous improvement in all areas
• Excellent project management/organizational capabilities; can work with multiple constituencies and manage/influence work of non-direct reports
• Has experience establishing and managing third-party relationships
• Demonstrated pragmatic business acumen that can be applied across different types of problems to drive efficient decision making
• Innate curiosity and willingness to learn about/attempt new tasks not previously undertaken
• Willingness to take on both strategic and tactical activities—no job is too big or too small
• Life insurance or financial services industry experience a bonus
• If not in a primary company location, willingness to travel to office locations periodically
- Pay Range
- $140,000.00 Annually to $180,000.00 Annually
