Job Summary

The Technical Sales Associate, LATAM is a pivotal role supporting the Global Technical Director and the LATAM Region Sales Team in our São Paulo, Florida location. In this hybrid position, you'll be the technical bridge between Okeanos' innovative sustainable solutions and our customers throughout Latin America. You'll build and nurture strategic business relationships while providing expert technical guidance that helps customers implement our planet-saving technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations across Latin America, identify technical challenges, and provide innovative sustainable solutions that reduce plastic waste.
  • Master our complete product portfolio's availability, applications, environmental benefits, and pricing structure to effectively position our solutions.
  • Represent Okeanos at industry tradeshows and events, showcasing our sustainable technologies and cultivating new customer relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver customized samples while providing technical expertise that converts prospects into long-term partners.
  • Consult with customers as a trusted advisor, offering technical recommendations tailored to their specific sustainability challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis and present actionable insights to leadership to enhance our product offerings and market penetration.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to monitor competitive products and industry trends, contributing valuable field intelligence to our strategic planning.
  • Partner with the Global Technical Director to exceed sales targets for new business in your assigned territories.
  • Leverage corporate resources to build and nurture accounts while prospecting for new business opportunities.
  • Help define R&D and Product Development strategies, identifying and developing innovative products for emerging markets.
  • Oversee product testing to ensure all solutions meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements while delivering on our sustainability promise.
  • Participate actively in product development, formulation, specification, and plant trials for new and improved offerings.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support across all business functions - Operations, Procurement, Finance, Marketing and Commercial.
  • Represent Okeanos on trade and technical bodies, both nationally and internationally.
  • Maintain client and company confidence by safeguarding proprietary information.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to establish and maintain forward-looking Product and Technology Roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Engineering or a technical field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in a technical sales position, preferably in sustainable materials or technologies.
  • Language: English (Native or B2) and Spanish or Portuguese (Native or B2).

Technical Skills

  • Relevant experience in the plastic industry, including transformation processes and the integration of mineral fillers and special additives.
  • Advanced knowledge of plastics, polymers, or composites with a passion for sustainable alternatives.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in various consultative sales techniques.
  • Knowledge of CaCO₃ technical processes is a plus.
