Overview

The Chief School Officer (CSO) serves as the strategic and operational leader of the Confidential Employer, ensuring academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and mission alignment. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of educational programming, faculty development, student success, and institutional growth. The CSO will champion a culture of integrity, innovation, and compassion in preparing students for careers in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

· Develop and implement the school’s academic vision, goals, and strategic plan

· Lead accreditation and licensing efforts in compliance with DC regulatory bodies and national standards

· Foster partnerships with healthcare institutions, community organizations, and workforce development agencies

Academic Oversight

· Supervise curriculum development and instructional delivery for CNA programs

· Ensure alignment with DC Board of Nursing and Department of Health requirements

· Monitor student performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies

Operations & Compliance

· Oversee faculty recruitment, training, and evaluation

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including FERPA, ADA, and Title IX

· Manage budgets, resources, and operational policies in collaboration with administrative staff

Student Success & Community Engagement

· Promote a student-centered learning environment that supports retention and graduation

· Lead initiatives to enhance career readiness, job placement, and alumni engagement

· Represent the school in public forums, advocacy efforts, and professional networks

Qualifications

· District of Columbia Licensed Registered Nurse

· Master’s degree or higher in Education, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field

· Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in postsecondary education or healthcare training

· Deep understanding of CNA program standards, clinical training requirements, and adult learning principles

· Proven track record in regulatory compliance, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness

· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Skills

· Experience working with DC regulatory agencies and healthcare providers

· Familiarity with LMS platforms, data analytics, and student information systems
