Job Summary

The Senior Safety Lead is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving company safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with field leadership, project teams, and management to foster a strong safety culture, reduce incidents, and promote safe work practices across all job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all safety programs, policies, and procedures across assigned projects or locations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation reviews
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding safety orientations
  • Coach and mentor supervisors and field personnel on safe work practices
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, incidents, and trends
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to proactively address safety concerns
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Maintain safety documentation, permits, JHAs, and inspection records

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience in construction, industrial, energy, or heavy civil environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems
  • Proven experience conducting safety audits and incident investigations
  • Ability to influence and lead safety culture across all levels of an organization
  • Strong communication, training, and documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 or OSHA 510/500 certification
  • CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar safety certification
  • Experience working on large-scale or multi-site projects
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and work in outdoor and industrial environments
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights or weekends, as needed
