Job Summary

The Structural Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling structural steel components in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and safety standards. This role requires strong welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in industrial and construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

·         Perform structural welding using processes such as SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux-Core), and GMAW (MIG)

·         Weld beams, columns, plates, pipes, and other structural steel components

·         Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols

·         Set up welding equipment and ensure proper settings for materials and procedures

·         Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications

·         Perform grinding, cutting, fitting, and finishing as needed

·         Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE

·         Work with supervisors, inspectors, and other trades to meet project deadlines

·         Maintain a clean and organized work area

Required Qualifications

·         Proven experience as a Structural Welder

·         Proficiency in structural welding processes (Stick, Flux-Core, MIG)

·         Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols

·         Knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS preferred)

·         Strong understanding of safety practices

·         Ability to work independently or as part of a team

·         Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions

Preferred Qualifications

·         AWS Welding Certification (or ability to pass weld tests)

·         Experience in construction, shipyard, refinery, or industrial environments

·         Experience working at heights or in confined spaces

Work Environment

·         Outdoor and indoor job sites

·         Exposure to heat, sparks, and heavy equipment

·         May require overtime, weekends, or travel depending on project needs
