Position Summary

 

Opkalla is looking for a full-time CFO to join our team of high-performing professionals to help drive and support our growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background in an operationally-complex environment and be familiar with technology products and trends.  A track record of supporting institutional investment and M&A transactions is required. 

 

The CFO will have impact on the company’s operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and optimize our financial position. This seasoned strategist not only understands current accounting practices and trends, but has proven experience in bringing companies to and through exit, raising capital and adapting to change. As a member of our senior management team, he or she will be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and presentation skills.

 

Key Accountability Areas

 

Chief Financial Officer Job Responsibilities:

      Safeguard the company’s assets and financial well-being.

      Be the voice of finance in conversations throughout the company, educating the management team on how their actions influence the company’s financial performance and equity value creation.

      Drive strategic company decision-making and growth planning based on financial insights.

      Provide financial projections and accounting services, prepare growth plans, and direct accounting and finance staff.

      Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.

      Establish financial operational strategies, including:

      Evaluating trends

      Establishing critical measurements

      Designing systems

      Resolving problems and implementing change

      Develop organization prospects by:

      Studying economic trends and revenue opportunities

      Identifying and/or evaluating acquisition and expansion prospects

      Analyzing organization operations

      Identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement

      Accumulating capital to fund expansion

      Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.

      Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.

      Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.

      Maintain and build relationships with lenders and investors.

      Own the architecture of compensation and incentive structures across the company, ensuring plans are data-driven, scalable, and tightly aligned to growth priorities, profitability targets, and long-term value creation, while balancing performance motivation, financial discipline, and cultural impact.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

      Financial planning and strategy

      Managing profitability

      Strategic planning and vision

      Development and execution of process improvement initiatives

      Forecasting

      Corporate finance

      Budget development

 

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

      Experience in a technology company, preferably one that had a strong exit

      MBA or bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.

      Has held a VP of Finance or CFO role in an organization of at least $20 million in annual revenue.

      Minimum 5 years of experience in management of others in accounting and financial roles

      Experience as an executive team member.

      Experience working within a rapidly growing business of under $100 million in revenue.

      Experience as the primary interface with lenders or investors

      Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.

      Impeccable GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
