POSITION DESCRIPTION
The individual chosen for this assignment will perform source verification and surveillance at vendor facilities to ensure that processes meet NQA-1 standards and that components meet contract requirements. This includes in-process inspections, welding inspections, Material Test Report (MTR) review and verification, and documentation review and report preparation. The individual will communicate with Control Account Managers, Responsible Engineers, and the Deputy Group Leader for Engineering to determine needs and coordinate visits. The individual will prepare and submit an inspection plan prior to each visit that documents objectives. He or she will submit a post-visit report that documents all findings and recommendations. The individual will also maintain a record of all follow up actions and report regularly on their status.
DELIVERABLES
- Three-month site visit plan approved by the DGL for Engineering
- Pre-visit objectives approved by the Responsible Engineer
- Post-visit report
- Action-item list, including due dates and completion dates
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or satisfactory completion of the General Educational Development test (G.E.D.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience.
- Experience with NDT, ASME, and ANSI related requirements.
- CWI or other related certifications.
- Prior DOE experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Q Clearance.
LOCATION
Los Alamos National Lab
Position will be primarily traveling to supplier facilities.
