POSITION DESCRIPTION
Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project. Demonstrates technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.
- Fabrication and procurement – building PITs
- Renovating and fabricating equipment for the 30-PIT mission
- Acting as project engineer managing the engineering function.
- Supporting the mission managing the scope
- Working with a procurement engineer and an innovative project team; acting with the team of experts/vendors
- Halfway through 1st phase of 3 phase project
- 30-PIT to 60-PIT mission – year 2030
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Position typically requires a degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience minimum
- Glovebox and/or Nuclear experience.
- Mechanical and HVAC Experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Q clearance.
LOCATION
- Los Alamos National Lab – Los Alamos, NM
- Hybrid Role – Occassional travel to the site. Local candidates can work in the facility if desired.
- Per Diem available when traveling.
- Number of Openings – 2 for PE II and 3 for PE III
- Initial 1 year assignment with extension years possible.
- 4/10 or 9/80 schedule.
- Some travel to vendor facilities is possible. Every 3 to 4 months estimated.
