JOB SUMMARY
The I&E Operations Foreman I is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of instrumentation and electrical systems across midstream gas processing and gathering facilities. This includes managing control systems, measurement equipment, automation infrastructure, and electrical components to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
This role leads day-to-day I&E activities, sets team priorities, and ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Foreman applies strong technical and operational judgment to resolve routine issues, support plant optimization, and maintain system integrity while emphasizing safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence. Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and transparency while upholding BKV standards, values, and culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical job responsibilities of the I&E OPERATIONS FOREMAN I include:
- Oversee troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation, electrical systems, and control systems (PLC/SCADA).
- Ensure the team diagnoses and resolves issues related to transmitters, control valves, analyzers, motors, MCCs, and electrical distribution systems.
- Lead calibration, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control devices.
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Promote a safety-first culture and lead safety meetings, audits, and field observations.
- Coordinate I&E maintenance projects, ensuring availability of parts, tools, and labor resources.
- Support station operations by ensuring control systems and automation are functioning optimally.
- Monitor system performance and reliability using diagnostic tools and data analysis.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and mechanical teams to troubleshoot and improve facility performance.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, calibration records, and system changes.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding system performance, risks, and critical issues.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong electrical, instrumentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- In-depth knowledge of control systems (PLC/SCADA), field instrumentation, and electrical distribution systems.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and electrical safety standards (e.g., NEC).
- Leadership and management skills including achieving results through influence, guiding performance and development, and fostering a motivating and inclusive workplace.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications; ability to leverage digital tools and data for performance improvement.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Typically requires at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position is located in the Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin and is based out of the BKV Fort Worth, Texas office.
- Hybrid of indoor and outdoor working environments, depending on assignment.
- Requires ability to perform repetitive motions, operate standard office equipment, potentially stand for long periods of time and engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items in excess of 20lbs.
- May be exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn.
- When on the road, may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Requires travel approximately 10–20% of the time to field locations and operational sites.
