Become a Key Player as a Machinist Senior
You will operate and program Wire EDM and other production machines to deliver precision parts that meet tight tolerances and surface-finish requirements. You will work onsite on a first shift schedule (6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 5x8 days) and collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve cycle times and reduce scrap. Your work directly impacts production throughput and product quality for the organization.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Create, modify, and optimize Wire EDM programs and set up machines and fixtures for repeatable, accurate production
- Select wire type/size, power settings, flushing methods, and cutting strategies; perform rough and skim passes
- Operate Wire EDM and sinker EDM machines; monitor cutting conditions and make real-time adjustments to prevent wire breaks
- Run multiple production machines, perform machine operations (cutting, shaping, deburring, drilling, reaming) and rework parts as needed
- Interpret blueprints and GD&T; perform first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparator, height gauge, and other precision tools
- Maintain job documentation (setup sheets, tooling lists, program revisions) and perform statistical process control (SPC)
- Troubleshoot programming, setup, and process issues and recommend corrective actions; participate in lean initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- Minimum three years of related machining experience
- Ability to set up machines and work with limited guidance in a team environment
- Proficient in reading and following blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions; working knowledge of machine shop mathematics (may include trigonometry)
- Experience measuring and documenting dimensions with precision inspection tools and interpreting GD&T
- Demonstrated ability to apply lean principles and participate in continuous-improvement activities
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with job-specific software applications and basic computerized systems for documentation and reporting
Pay Range
$28.00 - $35.00/hour
