Become a Key Player as a Machinist 1
You will produce precision metal and nonmetal parts by setting up and operating conventional and CNC machining equipment, directly impacting production quality and throughput. You will work onsite on first shift (core hours 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM) with stakeholders across manufacturing, inspection, and assembly to meet production schedules and tolerance requirements. Your work supports the team by ensuring parts meet specifications and equipment runs reliably.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC lathes, turret lathes, engine lathes, mills, and other shop equipment to fabricate parts
- Select, mount, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials for machining operations
- Calculate and set machine controls (speed, feed, coolant, depth/angle of cut) and edit/load NC programs as required
- Perform trial runs, inspect finished workpieces, and verify conformance to specifications using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
- Detect and correct machine malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Create tooling and holding fixtures as needed and install machined replacement parts into assemblies
- Follow ESD controls and apply bonding, soldering, epoxy mixing, and assembly/packaging techniques when required
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or GED
- Six (6) or more years' experience operating and setting up conventional and CNC lathes, mills, and other machine shop equipment
- Training in CNC machining, inspection techniques, and shop safety
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and procedure documentation
- Proficiency with inspection instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and ability to inspect your own work
- Ability to perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry relevant to machining
- Authorization to work as a US citizen for this location

- Experience with Fadal and Haas machines
- 4-axis machining experience
- Experience handling precision machine parts, specialized metal finishes, and classified assemblies
Pay Range
$24.00 - $30.00/hour
