Main Purpose of the job:             Growth our women-owned business community at the North of Mexico while promoting our Regional Conference.
Reporting to:                                  Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean

Job Overview: 
Responsible for the execution of public relations activities and events coordination. Develop ongoing communications such as press releases and supporting multimedia assets.  Develop and maintain relationships with key media sources, local stakeholders, and key women-owned business in the North area of Mexico (Sonora, Nuevo Leon, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Baja California Norte) ensuring goals are being met.  Work with the regional director in developing opportunities and strategies.  

The local contractor is primarily responsible for conducting local research on the women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) ecosystem, local media and leading outreach and communications with local stakeholders to engage them in the organization activities; registration, certification and attending to networking events and Conferences.

Job Responsibilities:  To help ensure the efficient and effective management, growth, and impact of WEConnect International in accordance with its mission and regulations, this position requires:
  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with women-owned businesses.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with local stakeholders that promote women's economic empowerment in both the public and private sectors.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with media.
  • Developing strategies to promote our work and mission with women-owned businesses.
  • Maintaining connections with local reporters and influencers.
  • Designing and leading events that foster connections between members and certified Women Business Enterprises (WBEs). These include:
           Membership benefit events, such as Meet the Member events.
            Fundraising-dependent events, such as conferences and forums.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, PR, or a related field.
  • Native Spanish speaker with proficiency in English.
Experience and Skills
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing reports in both English and Spanish
  • Experience in media engagement.
  • Experience with events coordination.
  • Extroverted personality with ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Enjoys connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, both in person and virtually.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder objectives and sensitivities.  
  • Entrepreneurial and flexible mindset with high positive energy and the ability of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
