The Strategic Partnerships Associate will play a key role in advancing the Equity Fund’s fundraising and partnership goals by providing essential research, data management, communications, and operational support. This role is designed for a detail-oriented, proactive team player with development experience who thrives in a collaborative environment. The Associate will ensure strong systems and aligned processes across the team while contributing directly to fundraising, communications, and relationship management efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
Team Alignment & Administrative Support (25%)

Support scheduling, agenda-setting, and preparation for internal and external meetings.

Ensure follow-up and task-tracking to keep the team aligned on goals and deliverables.

Support cross-departmental coordination to align fundraising materials with program and communications staff.
Communications & Collateral Development (20%)

Draft and edit fundraising communications such as newsletters, funder updates, impact reports, news posts and issue briefing materials.

Assist with the development and copy for donor collateral and presentations.

Ensure consistency of voice and messaging across communications in alignment with the Equity Funds brand guidelines.
Salesforce and Data Management (20%)

Maintain and update Salesforce records to accurately track funder relationships, updates, communications, and engagement activities. Also, ensure grant-specific details are captured accurately in the system.

Generate reports and dashboards to monitor fundraising progress and identify opportunities for follow-up.

Troubleshoot Salesforce issues and actively advance enhancements to improve team workflows.
Funder Research and Data Gathering (20%)

Conduct initial research on potential funders to align opportunities with organizational priorities.

Collect and organize grantee updates and information that support Development projects and materials.

Create detailed prospect profiles, including giving history and funding interests, to inform engagement strategies.

Identify new funding opportunities through targeted industry research.
Project Management and Support (15%)

Manage special projects and oversee timelines, deliverables, and progress in support of the Vice President and Director of Development.

Keep the Strategic Partnerships Team accountable for projects and commitments by tracking key deliverables and ensuring results.
Education:
-
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the position’s essential functions.
Experience and Skills:
-
2–4 years of experience in fundraising, development, philanthropy, or related nonprofit/advocacy work.

Strong research and writing skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling materials.

Proficiency in CRM/database management (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Ability to travel domestically 10-15% annually to off-site meetings and other Equity Fund events.

Location: 100% remote with minimum travel 4x a year

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $65,000-$75,000, based on our DC office location and may vary based on cost of labor in each respective geographical market, as this is a fully remote position. Typically, new hires are hired into the middle portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in the range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. Salary offers are made in consideration of our internal equity within the organization and external equity with competitive markets.
