We're hiring for a Media Planner/Buyer as a full-time job for an ad agency in Jacksonville, FL.
Position Overview: The Media Planner/Buyer will work closely with clients to understand their needs, wants, and objectives to determine which media channels fit best for specific campaigns. The ideal candidate will have experience developing various options for media plans both traditional and paid based on client objectives. He or she should be a self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple workloads and deadlines.
Media Planner/Buyer Job Requirements:
- Creating or recommending certain media strategies to attract and retain customers, increase the client's brand recognition, and maintain and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Interacting with internal and external partners to evaluate, implement, and maintain a media plan
- Negotiates contracts and rates with all media outlets
- Analyzing data, thinking creatively and designing innovative strategies to make sure client marketing campaigns align with business objectives and reach the client’s target audience in the most effective way possible
- Assessing the impact and suitability of different media types used to target certain markets based on their clients' needs and wants
- Analyzing the client's post-campaign results and recommending refinements
- Collecting and analyzing information on different online and offline media channels, such as Search Engines, Social Media, newspapers, radio, magazines, television, films, and outdoor posters and digital billboards
- Maintains costs against budgets and reviews ROI with marketing managers to suggest changes if needed
- Manages vendor relationships including maintaining accurate billing; costs charged in accordance with contracts
Job Qualifications:
- 7+ years of media buying/planning experience in an agency setting or in-house marketing department
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university, preferred
- Strong negotiating skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong command of media research and reporting resources
- Solid understanding of all advertising mediums (both online and offline) and demonstrates a full understanding of the media buying process
- Equally comfortable planning in B2B & B2C/D2C environments
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and motivation to work in a team environment that encourages creativity and effective collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products and applications
