Come join our diverse and innovative team! UBT was recently voted as the TOP place to work by the Detroit Free Press! We have an immediate opening for a Project Engineer with an emphasis on a Mechanical discipline supporting an inhouse General Contracting construction team.  This position will provide a full range of critical engineering and construction quality assurance and management and technical oversight of multiple projects. You will be responsible for performing technical inspections of mechanical work, monitoring the sub-contractor's quality control program, and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance. Need specific experience with Building Automation Systems, monitor controls and disconnects, general plumbing, fire protection, controls, power generation and HVAC systems.



Job Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or related construction engineering field
  • 5 years of construction experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering building systems to include HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and controls
  • Ability to prepare documentation of critical analysis for systems and providing recommendations for improvement or correction
  • Ability to evaluate design calculations and data, reviewing construction drawings, RFI’s and submittals
  • Knowledge of International Building Codes required
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
