Sampled believes that as an organisation we have a duty to be actively engaged in supporting not just the clients and industries we serve but the communities where we live and work.POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Director of Global Infrastructure, the Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining Sampled’s IT infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and optimal performance. The job holder will play a critical role in supporting internal users, troubleshooting issues, implementing system enhancements, and driving process improvements.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and operating systems, while ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.• Perform system administration tasks, such as installation, configuration, and monitoring of servers and applications.• Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data and systems, including access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, in accordance with regulatory requirements.• Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to identify and resolve technical issues and provide timely support to end-users.• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations, considering regulatory implications and minimizing any potential impact on business operations.• Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to ensure efficient and reliable operation.• Conduct regular audits and assessments of the IT infrastructure to identify compliance gaps and recommend remediation actions to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements.• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configuration details, procedures, and evidence of regulatory compliance.• Design and implementation of IT projects as Project Leader, including infrastructure expansions and technology deployments.• Mentor and provide guidance to junior system administrators, fostering their professional growth and knowledge development.• Stay updated with industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices, evaluating their impact on the organization's IT systems and making recommendations for adjustments or improvements as needed.• Be an effective team player, with behaviors reflecting the Sampled Values: Strive to delight our clients, Move innovation forward, Accelerate your business, Rise together as a team, Transcend what is possible.• Perform related responsibilities as neededPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.• Significant experience in system administration roles, ideally 5 to 10+ years, with a proven track record of managing IT infrastructure in a regulated environment. Experience of working in a global business with entities outside the US would be a plus.• Proficiency in administering and maintaining servers, storage systems, network devices, and operating systems (Windows and/or Linux).• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.• Strong knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, or FDA requirements.• Experience in implementing and maintaining security controls, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data.• Experience in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.• Familiarity with network protocols and security principles (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, etc.).• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.• Proven track record of successfully implementing system upgrades and migrations.• Proven project management skills, able to lead projects and engage all stakeholders.• Self-driven, with strong organization and prioritization skills. Able to work effectively with limited supervision.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Relevant certifications (such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCE, or CCNA) are a plus.Competitive compensation & benefits package
