  Nexus Circular – Material Handling Specialist
Status: Non - Exempt

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Material Handling Specialist. In this role, you will provide support to our operations department by assisting with various tasks related to equipment campaign changeover and cleaning.


Core Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Collection and drumming of end-of-campaign by-products, including interfacing with control operators to drain the equipment.
  • Coordinate with waste management company to schedule pickup of dumpsters and roll-off boxes.
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack safely efficiently.
  • Prepare and stage feedstock for consumption by operations team.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and identify potential issues or malfunctions for the equipment draining process.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
  • Follow established procedures and safety guidelines to ensure work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or near misses to supervisors promptly.


Education and Experience
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance techniques and tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects or perform manual labor as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors for significant hours per day.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations.

Jodie brings over 30 years of manufacturing leadership experience, having built and led 5 companies as CEO/President and 3 of those companies with an ESG focus.

Most recently, Jodie served as the CEO of GreenMantra Technologies, a privately-held early- stage advanced recycler of waste plastics to specialty waxes. Previously, she was President of Pinova, a PE-backed manufacturer of specialty chemicals from renewable resources.

Currently, she serves on the boards of NanoXplore (TSX) and Bartek Ingredients (PE backed) and is active with The National Association of Corporate Directors and The Women Corporate Directors.

Jodie earned degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and holds an MBA in Finance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
