Overview: 

We are looking for an investment manager to oversee the family office and help grow it.  Accounting Professional would be a plus. oversee/improve and facilitate the day-to-day functions of the family office.  This person will be responsible for financial reporting/oversee accounting/cash management/budgeting with the family office.  This position will be held accountable to specific financial goals which will be measured by budget vs. actual numbers to be reported out weekly and monthly.

Responsibilities: 

• The Controller will develop goals for and provide direction to the family office team, and lead the team to continually improve performance and close time.
• He or she will also research and provide guidance on technical accounting issues; contribute to the annual planning process; ensure accurate documentation of and compliance with policies, processes and internal controls; and participate in and/or lead special projects, including the implementation of new systems/technologies in order to reduce close time and risk.       
• Manage budgeting and forecasting and the year-end audit and tax schedule preparation process.
• Responsible for being on time and have accurate financials.
• Review and reconcile investments on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Manage aspects of the Family Estate.
• Manage aspects of the Charity.
• Manage real estate holdings/Help grow the real estate holdings of the family office
• Source deals in real estate or investments
• Oversee and manage all positions of the family office

Qualifications: 

Required Experience:

·         10+ years of public/private mix

·         Prior Managerial Experience in an accounting or executive role

·         Proven budgeting and forecasting skills

·         Cash management knowledge

·         Ability to multitask

·         Real Estate accounting, financing and management experience is a must

·         BS degree in Accounting

·         CPA a plus

·         MBA a plus

-        Rolodex of investment industry connections structuring deals (both from a finance and tax perspective) private equity investing and portfolio management

Skills:

• High Proficiency with QuickBooks software
• Strong systems experience and knowledge that includes proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a working knowledge of enterprise systems and business intelligence tools.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge that includes GAAP & SOX.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel essential
• Great Plains Dynamics experience a plus
• Budget to actual
• Accountability
