Located in the heart of California’s growing Central Valley, First Pediatrics Medical Group in Fresno, California offers pediatric care in a thriving professional medical setting. We are seeking a career-oriented Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to provide the highest level of patient care by joining our dynamic team of clinical staff.

 

Position Summary:

 

In collaboration with the Pediatrician, the Nurse Practitioner assumes clinical functions involved with the care of pediatric patients. This includes but is not limited to:

  • The diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for preventative and health maintenance to pediatric patients from newborn to 18 years of age;
  • Ordering and implementing diagnostic tests;
  • Developing patient treatment plans and patient follow-ups;
  • Administering medicines and treatments;
  • Prescribing medications;
  • Documenting pertinent patient information and medical histories in electronic medical record;
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality; ensuring compliance to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) guidelines.

 

Nurse Practitioner requirements:

 

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program, have an RN license in California and be board certified by either PNCB. Must have APN authorization in the state of California to practice family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Experience working in outpatient pediatrics is preferred, but recent graduates with Pediatric RN experience is welcome!

 

Physician Assistant requirements:

 

Minimum of 1-2 years experience in pediatrics. The ideal candidate must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant’s program and possess a bachelor's degree. NCCPA certification licensure and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is also required.  

 

Other Requirements:

 

Must have the ability to work with others and demonstrate leadership qualities. Ideal candidate will be familiar with electronic medical records and medical software. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management skills and keen attention to detail are a plus.
