Since its inception in 1983, Vantage Deluxe World Travel has been creating and delivering Memorable Journeys - River Cruises, Small Ship Cruise tours, and Escorted Land Tours to destinations all over the world.

We provide travelers complete packages - including airfare, meals, cultural connections and comprehensive sightseeing.

Launching in 2021, Vantage’s first small ship ocean going expedition vessel, the deluxe 5-star Ocean Explorer will circumnavigate the globe with a roster of exciting new expeditions.

As Expedition Guide you will be part of the expedition team delivering our program in the destination of Iceland and Greenland AND/OR Antarctica.

You will be in charge of onboard lecture and shore excursion delivery at selected ports in close cooperation with the Expedition leader and Cruise director onboard. The ideal candidate is experienced in leading excursions in the destination(s), while pursue providing excellent guest experience onboard and ashore at all time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and lead Zodiac operations, landings, and excursions ashore in close cooperation with the Expedition leader onboard
  • Plan and deliver lectures and presentations on the certain destinations’ culture, history, geology, flora & fauna
  • Work closely together with the expedition team, Cruise director and crew onboard for excellent guest experience & customer service

Desired skills & experience

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of local conditions and cultures in operating regions: Iceland & Greenland AND/OR Antarctica
  • Proven experience in the region(s) as expedition guide is preferred
  • Acquaintance of all safety & group leading license and skills specific for the destination & environment
  • Problem-solving, team player attitude
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal & written
  • Min 2-3 years experience in expeditionary tourism or a related working environment
  • Small boat driving license would be an asset
  • Strong presentation skills for groups up to 150 guests
  • Relates well with American travelers including families with children age 8-18, solo travelers, active travelers and travelers of age 50+
  • Ability to create a fun environment to build a cohesive team of travelers and creating a learning experience in the region; must be fit and active, in excellent shape in body & mind to be able to lead our programs
  • A good listener with the ability to handle passenger questions, comments, and complaints in a diplomatic, patient and caring way.
