    Description

    Thompson is seeking a passionate and dedicated early-childhood professional to be part of a two person team.  The Cabarrus county team, is funded by the Cabarrus Partnership for Children and provides services to children, families and teachers. 

    Responsibilities include:

    • Assist licensed childcare programs in Cabarrus County with implementing the evidence-based Incredible Years (IY) Teacher Classroom Management Program.
    • Provide monthly training sessions regarding the IY program with partner.
    • Provide weekly follow up coaching/technical assistance to teachers regarding implementation of IY program in their classroom.
    • Facilitate weekly Kaleidoscope Play & Learn groups, with partner, to young children and their family, friend and neighbor caregivers and parents.   
    • Serve as a liaison between Thompson Child & Family Focus and community partners.
    • Document services, including daily contact notes, monthly and quarterly reports.
    • Adhere to an annual budget for purchasing materials needed for programs.

     

    Basic skills require knowledge of early childhood development, classroom management, facilitating and modeling age-appropriate play, coaching/training teachers and parents regarding positive and supportive interactions with children birth to five. 

    Additional basic skills include the ability to work independently, good written and oral communication skills, ability to establish collaborative professional relationships with different types of people, high organizational and time management skills.  Required to establish a home office.
