Wally’s maintenance lead works as a member of the Guest Service Team, and is responsible for providing great guest service, supervising and working alongside maintenance team members in maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and the exterior of the store, lot, fuel pumps, and canopy. Successful maintenance leads are able to supervise and work with small teams with minimal supervision to complete janitorial cleaning tasks, are able to use janitorial hand tools, operate power equipment, and follow tasks lists, while creating a guest centric atmosphere.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide an upbeat, polite, pleasant guest experience while performing duties in a timely fashion.

Follow and comply with Standard Operating Procedures, Company Policies, Team Member Handbook, and directives given by management.

Supervise small teams of maintenance personnel in the completion of daily tasks.
Assist in the team member evaluation process.

Assist in the team member corrective action process.

Remove trash from the interior, exterior, and parking areas using carts, hand tools, and power equipment.

Clean floors, bathrooms, touch surfaces, offices, department equipment, doors, and other interior objects using janitorial supplies and equipment. 

Clean exterior building, sidewalks, parking stalls, fuel pumps, canopy, and other exterior objects using janitorial supplies and equipment.

Remove snow from sidewalks using power equipment and hand tools. 

Stock, change out, and replace soda and sloosh bibs. 

Assist inventory team in unloading deliveries, stocking, and rotating merchandise, and back stocking beverage coolers according to standard operating procedures.
Comply with uniform standards and maintain a “well groomed” appearance.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required flexibility in scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.


 

Position Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred. 1 to 2 years prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred.

1 year of supervising small teams is preferred.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  

Ability to communicate and/or write simple correspondence.  

Ability to operate power equipment such as kubota, snow thrower, walk behind floor scrubber, and power washer in a safe and efficient manner. 

Intermediate knowledge of the use of hand and power tools. 

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Maintenance leads are regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to walk.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
