We believe in winning as a team, living with integrity, quality first, and a service-minded focus. We are searching for an Process Documentation Specialist to join our team.

The Process Documentation Specialist will report directly to the VP of Quality, and will work across both lines of SSE’s business in order to coordinate with IT management and staff to develop policies and processes with security of information (both CUI and CCI) in mind. This role will ensure SSE has the appropriate policies in place to execute, oversee, manage, audit and report on all requirements as necessary for compliance with applicable CMMC and NIST requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with management and staff to determine appropriate policy and procedure requirements.
  • Develop and document policies, procedures, and processes in accordance with CMMC and NIST requirements
  • Work across multiple functions within the company to create documents, including client-facing, distributable templates
  • Determine gaps in documentation and implementation
  • Determine the exact steps, roles, and responsibilities needed in order to develop procedures
  • Develop life cycle policies and plans for critical applications
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand compliance requirements.
  • Create Support documentation, such as Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Develop related internal training materials
  • Assist in compliance activates such as external audits from customers, regulatory compliance projects, and overall information security reviews.
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the process and documentation requirements
  • Develop guides and how-to procedures for internal company systems
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Revise documents as requirements change
  • Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to facilitate discussions with all internal departments.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Experience with screen capture tools (i.e. SnagIT)
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and diagrams
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 year degree in relevant field preferred
  • Technical writing or technical experience preferred
