Thompson is seeking a highly skilled professional social worker to help empower families in our community who are experiencing homelessness towards self-sufficiency and stability. The A Child’s Place social worker will engage high-needs families in developing, implementing, and monitoring an intensive case plan. This includes helping identify a natural support system, identifying barriers/cause of homelessness, working on the development of an integrated plan and establishing a strong relationship with the family.
The social worker will help the family identify strengths and work towards self-sufficiency through various activities and interventions. This is an excellent position for non-licensed staff with a history and passion for case management. Ideal candidates will have the following professional characteristics: High degree of ethical behavior and integrity, Maintain flexibility in schedule and style to meet the needs of the families they are serving, Solution focused mindset, Ability to be non-reactive in the midst of high stress, crisis situations, Ability to conceptualize case needs systemically, Trauma informed philosophy and congruent behaviors as well as Experience and ability to work with adults and children from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic environments.
Required Education and Skills
Must possess a Masters of Social Work. QP Status required. A minimum of two years’ experience working with homelessness preferred. Must have a valid NC Driver’s License and a good driving record.
