Position Description

As an Assistant Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals and managing monthly accounting activities partnering closely with business unit leaders to nurture a growing business. We’re looking for a leader with an established track record of building and nurturing high performance teams and an ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization. This role reports directly to the Controller.

 

Duties

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a growing portfolio of operating assets held in two separate Joint Ventures
  • Lead the development of forecasts and budgets for operating assets
  • Lead the Consolidated Audits of Joint Ventures and Tax Equity Partnerships
  • Supervise a team of operating asset accountants
  • Work closely with the Asset Management team to develop and execute Tax Equity Partnership reporting and cash distributions
  • Assist with tax compliance and filings for Tax Equity Partnerships and Joint Ventures
  • Work with 3rd Party Administrators in maintaining Investment Company Financial Statements
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of results of operations and finance, routinely
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls
  • Provide technical guidance across the business including communication / clarification of new laws and regulations related to GAAP and Statutory reporting
  • Manage external auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner

 

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 10 or more years of combined private company and public accounting background (Big 4 preferable)
  • Very strong understanding of US GAAP and displayed proficiency in accounting operations
  • CPA
  • Experience creating and fostering partnerships with internal leadership and executive teams
  • Experience influencing and driving towards results
  • Experience building processes and controls
  • Experience building a team and developing people
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to drive growth
