Wally’s Merchandising Lead works as a member of the Inventory Team, and is responsible for providing superior guest service. Successful Merchandisers are able to increase sales by designing and developing creative visual concepts and merchandising strategies. They are responsible for implementing all aspects of merchandise visual presentation to create eye-catching displays to attract the guest’s attention and increase sales revenue. The visual merchandiser will implement and execute signage, floor plan displays, and special promotions that align with company strategy.
Responsibilities and Duties
Guest service is always the top priority and must be placed above any inventory task being performed.
Utilize Wally’s standard operating procedures within the inventory department.
Serves as a mentor to members of the inventory team and follows standard guidelines when training.
Communicate effectively, deliver instructions, and train the inventory team in the execution of proper merchandising techniques.
Develop positive relationships with team members to create an environment to foster growth and to mentorship.
Plan, develop, and execute merchandising strategies that balance guests’ expectations and company’s objectives.
Collaborate with vendors, and relevant corporate team members to ensure product is available and floor remains stocked.
Maximize guest interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
Execute layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory
Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs, etc
Remain up to date with industry’s best practices
Perform other duties as assignedPosition Requirements
Proven working experience in merchandising
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate buyers
Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong listening, presentation and decision-making skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to deal with problems using standard operating procedures.
While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
