National Grid Renewables is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our growing IT Operations Team. This role will provide the technical knowledge necessary to drive forward our organization's cloud-based infrastructure initiatives as we align our processes and technologies.

 

What You Will Actually Do:

  • Configure, monitor and maintain a hybrid infrastructure environment consisting of Microsoft and MacOS on-premise endpoints and Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle infrastructures and various PaaS/SaaS applications
  • Define controls for configuring and monitoring solutions in Azure AD, Azure cloud, and various PaaS/SaaS services
  • Assist with reporting on current infrastructure status, and planning for future usage with Cost and Reporting
  • Develop, configure, implement, and manage the systems that comprise the underlying cloud platform
  • Assist with Azure/ AWS and other cloud environment implementations via Admin portal, PowerShell, or other scripting tools (e.g. Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support and upgrades
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all platforms, resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, service upgrades, software patches, and resource optimization as required
  • Be an escalation point for Help Desk tickets and projects
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT Operations team on shared technical knowledge and experience
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks
  • Create, modify, and disable Azure AD and Office365 accounts as needed. Enable automation wherever possible
  • Coordinate and collaborate with team members and service stakeholders
  • Perform regular systems hardening to maintain security standards
  • Conduct after-hours maintenance as needed
     

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic assessment against defined security policies.
  • Perform regular, periodic reviews of any security testing (e.g. penetration tests, audit logs, validate controls, etc.).
  • Deploy applications and controls as part of the configuration/patch management lifecycle.
  • Deploy minimum security baseline configurations as well as the controls monitoring functions.
  • Perform additional tasks, as required, for assigned projects.

 

What You Bring to the Role:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Management/Computer Information Systems (MIS/CIS), Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Seven or more years in a technology-related field, with a minimum of 3 years in Systems Administration.
  • Preferable IT certifications (CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals MCSE) highly desired.
  • 3-5 years configuring, monitoring and maintaining a hybrid infrastructure environment consisting of Microsoft and MacOS on-premise endpoints and Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle infrastructures and various PaaS/SaaS applications.
