Position Description

Wally’s maintenance team member works as a member of the Maintenance Service Team, and is responsible for providing great guest service, maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and the exterior of the store, lot, fuel pumps, and canopy. Successful maintenance team members are able to work individually or in small teams with minimal supervision to complete janitorial cleaning tasks, are able to use janitorial hand tools, operate power equipment, and follow tasks lists, while creating superior guest environment at Wally’s.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide an upbeat, polite, pleasant guest experience while performing duties in a timely fashion.

Follow and comply with Standard Operating Procedures, Company Policies, Team Member Handbook, and directives given by management.

Remove trash from the interior, exterior, and parking areas using carts, hand tools, and power equipment.

Clean floors, bathrooms, touch surfaces, offices, department equipment, doors, and other interior objects using janitorial supplies and equipment. 

Clean exterior building, sidewalks, parking stalls, fuel pumps, canopy, and other exterior objects using janitorial supplies and equipment.

Remove snow from sidewalks using power equipment and hand tools. 

Stock, change out, and replace soda and sloosh bibs. 

Assist inventory team in unloading deliveries, stocking, and rotating merchandise, and back stocking beverage coolers according to standard operating procedures.

Comply with uniform standards and maintain a “well groomed” appearance.

Perform other duties as assigned

Required flexibility in scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.  
 

Position Requirements

“List required qualifications, skills, and work availability if applicable. If position requires a minimal amount of experience list as well.”

High school diploma or GED preferred.  Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  

Ability to communicate and/or write simple correspondence.  

Ability to operate power equipment such as Kubota, snow thrower, walk behind floor scrubber, and power washer in a safe and efficient manner. 

Basic knowledge of the use of hand and power tools. 

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Team Members are regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to walk.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
