    PURPOSE:

    To support the overall successful operations of Thompson IT services.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Display individual proficiency and effectiveness in the role

    • Display trauma informed practices and principles in your interactions with customers, with peers and with leadership
    • Troubleshoot upgrade, and maintain designated server infrastructure
    • Troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain designated network infrastructure
    • Perform and test full backups of all critical systems including disaster recovery network failover and cloud restore
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance VoIP phone systems
    • Resolve all level 2 tickets not able to be resolved by the level 1 analyst(s)
    • Assist level 1 analyst(s) with overflow work during periods of high need
    • Model, create, and maintain Group Policy objects
    • Monitor, utilize, improve, and troubleshoot designated security infrastructure including web filter, exchange rules, phishing simulations, email security, firewall, and encryption
    • Act as primary administrator in designated core software systems such as Office 365, Asset management, FOG, Helpdesk, eFax and more
    • Review server, Office 365, and all other administration portal logs and alerts and work with IT Director to resolve
    • Create new MDM policies and act as primary MDM administrator
    • Work directly with vendors to troubleshoot and initiate change requests
    • Create bi-weekly IT ticket resolution reports and area of concern reports for review by the IT Director
    • Actively participate in development and implementation of new IT-related projects
    • Evaluate departmental processes and goals and propose ideas and methods to improve
    • Prepares reference tools, e-learnings, and process maps for internal software and features
    • Complete projects and other work as assigned by the IT Director
    • Assist IT Director and other IRM staff as directed

    SPECIFICATION AND EDUCATION: 

    Must have a valid North Carolina Driver License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in.

    Education requirement for this individual contributor role is:  This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or technical school in computer science or related field and 2-3 years of professional IT hands on experience.   

    Requires advanced technical skills in all windows operating systems and understanding of core server and networking processes.  Utilize efficiency, trend data, and logging to identify issues, map enhancements, and implement.  Must be data-driven and understand adherence to primary SLAs. Requires working and applicable knowledge of Office 365, Powershell, and Windows server. Knowledge of VMware, Aruba CLI, Ubiquiti hardware/software technology preferred. Occasional travel to and between campuses is required. Employee must be detailed oriented, organized, and possess strong communication skills. Employee must have the ability to work closely and effectively with diverse team members.  Employee must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities.
