What You Will Actually be Doing: 

The Sr Accountant will maintain and direct daily accounting functions related to Geronimo’s central, development company account. An ideal candidate will be self-driven, eager to grow, and excited to learn within a changing and growing company. The Senior Accountant should be willing to go above and beyond their normal tasks and take pride in their work.

Specifically:

  • Create, monitor and post journal entries
  • Perform accounting closing duties relating to month, quarter, and year end
  • Coordinate reconciliations of sub ledger accounts and general ledger
  • Work with parent company on trial balance closing processes and reconciliations
  • Take responsibility of company employee expense reporting system and communications
  • Monitor and create project data integration for reporting and business support functions
  • Collaborate with other accounting teams regarding accurate transactions and business processes
  • Work closely with external auditors to complete annual audits
  • Analyze financial reports and data to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Support financial and business functions with analysis of financial data
  • Work with the business processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and simplicity
  • Actively participate in or support special projects as assigned
  • Stay current with new or proposed local, state, federal rules and regulations and internal and external financial reporting requirements


What You Will Bring to the Role: 

Experience:

  • 2-4 years

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

 

Attributes:

  • Strong general ledger accounting skills
  • Previous bookkeeping and general journal entry experience preferred
  • Attentive to information being presented
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with internal and external parties
  • Achievement-driven, self-starter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Accounting ERPs
  • CPA preferred, but not required
