What We're Looking For:

 

The Senior Scheduler will develop and oversee the schedule management delivery of projects within Complex Capital portfolio. Utilizing Primavera P6, the scheduler will be responsible for the complex analysis and review of project schedules and other documentation, providing opinions, advice and reports as necessary on project progress as well as predictions of the project outcome. 

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Accountable for building and developing project schedules across the portfolio of solar and wind projects. The schedules will be built using the agreed work breakdown structure to support Engineers, Project Development and Project Managers.  The project schedule will need to be integrated with internal TEAM and external parties – Contractors, Owner-procurement suppliers and Interconnecting Utilities.   
  • Determining reasonable schedule logic, duration and constraints based on interactive planning sessions with the project team 
  • Participate in project risk reviews, performing schedule qualitative and quantitative analysis, and develop/maintain/monitor risk register and float contingencies; advising the PM of related cost/schedule implications and recommend recovery options
  • Provide feedback and evaluation at the RFP stage on EPC schedules to successfully meet overall schedule goals and key project milestones
  • Monitor, update, and apply project controls techniques to ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence throughout the TEAM Development Process 
  • Maintain the Integrated Master Schedule Reporting performance against the baseline, for both activity durations and resourcing hours; validating accuracy and consistency of data, as well as supporting the end of year reconciliation process
  • Accountable for using the schedule and forecast to review the project cost/schedule integration throughout the TEAM Development Process
  • Accountable for ensuring schedule data is accurate for management reporting eg Earned Value data, %-complete on projects and project commentaries
  • Provide expert technical input and define policy as to the best way of using the scheduling tool to model projects e.g. interface milestones, float application, links between activities, portfolio views etc. 
  • Oversee and support the activities of other team members, providing advice and coaching as necessary
  • Visiting active construction projects and investigating work progress; Confirms progress is consistent with the project schedule and other project records

 

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required 

 

  • Good leadership and team management
  • The ability to support and communicate and effectively develop working relationships with staff at all levels
  • Ability to use computer-based planning tools and work scheduling systems
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of project scheduling
  • Experienced in influencing, persuading, communicating, challenging and negotiating

 

What You'll Need:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management and construction schedule management or equivalent relevant experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant project management, engineering and construction experience
  • Considerable proven experience and expert knowledge in schedule development and analysis including milestone management, critical path analysis, understanding of float and time risk allowance, earned value methodologies
  • Expert using Primavera P6 to create project schedules and progress them using a pre-defined work breakdown structure, to optimize the performance of a portfolio of projects and familiar with the issues that arise on projects and how to overcome them
  • Detailed understanding on how to fully build and maintain an organized, integrated EPC schedule using CPM, resource loading, baselining, coding and cost 
  • Demonstrated high level of personal initiative, integrity and ability to interact with company personnel, contractors and regulatory representatives 
  • An intuitive knowledge and ability to quickly understand principles of project management and construction, as well as contractor means and methods
  • Must have Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under tight deadlines
  • Energy networks and utility project scheduling experience (desirable)
