Position Summary:

The Business Development Director, Europe is responsible for researching, building and managing the business development / sales opportunities in their assigned market to achieve revenue goals. 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: 

1.       Meet or exceed assigned sales goals

2.       Contribute to and implement sales programs set forth by VP of Sales by developing field sales action plans and quotas for Europe.

3.       Establish and implement short and long term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures

4.       Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales methods, costs and results

5.       Manage your budget and prepare reports as requested by VP of Sales

6.       Resolve customer conflicts to achieve optimal results

7.       Coordinate meetings with customers to understand their requirements and/or expectations as well as identify new opportunities.

8.       Maintain sales volume by tracking changing trends and competitors

9.       Serve as primary contact, internal and external, for all customer-specific issues in assigned market

10.   Work closely with engineering, applications engineering, operations and customer service representatives in servicing accounts

11.   Enter all customer events, meetings, actions, quotes and general business updates into Salesforce on a daily basis

12.   Negotiate customer contracts according to policy

13.   Prepare sales forecast

14.   Prepare weekly reports for sales meetings documenting any customer contact, activities, events, and action items

15.   Take ownership and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

16.   Represent and promote the company at various industry events

17.   Build and direct a team of Business Development Managers as needed over time to expand our penetration in Europe.

18.   Assist in other job duties as required

Supervisory Responsibility:

None Initially.

Qualifications:

Education/Training:  Bachelor Degree with business emphasis preferred.

Experience: Minimum 10 years account development and management with proven record of achieving sales goals in Europe. Demonstrated experience working with strategic customers in local and federal European governments. Minimum 5 years in RF/microwave applications manufacturing environment preferred. Must have experience using Salesforce.

Skills/Technical Requirements:

·         Ability to motivate teammates to produce within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

·         Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.

·         Experience in strategic planning and execution.

·         Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

·         Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.

·         Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.

·         Fluency in written and spoken English required.

·         Fluency in one or more European languages desired.

Job Conditions/Physical Demands: 

Domestic and International travel required. Walking, sitting, standing. Ability to sit at computer terminal for prolonged periods, use of keyboard. Ability to lift and carry > 35 lbs.
