DESCRIPTION: Executive Director, Contracts is responsible for management and oversight of the Contracts department including the development and delivery of customer, vendor and site contracts; Investigator grant preparation and negotiation; and decentralized (DCT) study contracts. Incumbent is responsible to manage the contract negotiation with external parties ensuring the final agreement is free of conflicts and has advanced Elligo’s business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Defines, manages, and improves Elligo’s process for development, negotiation, and management of all external contracts.

Partners with Business Development, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure contract process is efficient and effective.

Ensures Request for Proposal (RFP) contains all information needed for proposal/budget preparation.

Designs, updates and maintains KPIs and dashboards to ensure leadership has visibility to performance

Communicates contract and budget negotiation progress to internal and external project teams.

Negotiates and manages changes in, and addendums to, existing contracts. Coordinates with Operations, Regulatory, and other stakeholders to ensure linkage with contract execution.

Collaborates with Finance to ensure budgets and contract terms meet financial objectives.

Supports generation of feasibility responses and proposal budgets when needed.

Ensures management information systems information is maintained. Improves systems to support better contract information visibility for the business.

Oversees liaison with third party vendors to provide and manage budget quotations and contracts.

Hires, develops, and engages a cohesive and highly skilled contract team. Ensures team is trained with necessary skills including knowledge of contractually significant elements of clinical research protocols; reviewing and understanding clinical trial agreements; preparing work orders; amendments; change orders; third-party vendor contract, and negotiating Investigator grant budgets based on the protocol and study operational requirements. Directly supports team in contract development, negotiation, and execution, as required.
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or similar educational background.

Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software (MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint), and Salesforce.

Eight years previous contracts management and development experience.

Four years direct supervisory experience preferred.

Four years of clinical research experience preferably in a contract research organization.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively in English.

Experienced in developing grant budgets for clinical trials.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Demonstrated strong attention to detail.

Strong organizational/prioritization skills to manage multiple concurrent projects.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and photocopiers.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. within their time zones and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary as job duties demand.
Minimal (less than 10%) travel is required for this position.
