JOB SUMMARY  

 

The Elligo Vice President, Decentralized Trials will be responsible for working with the CDO and other Elligo leaders to develop and implement a robust, scalable strategy for execution of Decentralized Clinical trials (DCT) through healthcare, leading with electronic healthcare records data (EHR).  The Elligo VP will lead a team of operational staff, partner organizations, and lead and support Business Development activities.  In addition, the VP will work with Information Technology (IT) to determine technology needs and strategy for DCT.  As a key member of Elligo’s leadership team, s/he will contribute at a strategic level to the organization’s growth strategy. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop the Elligo Integrated Decentralized Clinical Trial Strategy, aligning strategic marketing opportunities with delivery of robust solutions for the conduct of decentralized clinical research that leverages healthcare and other real-world data 

  • As the Subject Matter Expert (SME), define needs and contribute to an enterprise architecture for Elligo DCTs, providing a foundation for execution of Elligo’s business strategy  

  • Partner with the CDO and the Leadership Team to ensure that Elligo remains at the forefront of the industry  

  • Oversee operational staff to ensure timely, efficient execution of DCT projects 

  • Work closely with Business Development to identify, target, and secure new DCT projects for Elligo 

  • Ensure that Elligo’s DCT operations meets regulatory requirements for the clinical research industry, leverages industry standards and meets appropriate healthcare data and privacy regulations  

·  Design best practices and implement tools (hardware and software) to ensure fast, flexible and high-quality DCT project execution  

·  Drive R&D execution to ensure quality and timely delivery of new DCT products and solutions  

·  Regularly monitor Elligo’s position in the industry by staying abreast of developments in our space, including when appropriate by participating or presenting in/at industry meetings  

  • Identify skill gaps and drive external recruitments to bring new competencies when/as required 

  • Be a conscientious steward of investor resources 

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

 

  • Proven experience as a leader for DCT projects 

  • Knowledge of industry trends and ability to build robust strategy  

  • Comprehension of the biopharmaceutical industry; experience with the healthcare industry and real-world data (healthcare and PRO) will be a plus 

  • Comprehension and experience with of budgets and business-planning  

  • Ability to conduct complex analyses and research, weighing priorities  

  • Proven relationship skills with internal personnel and external partners 

  • Excellent communication skills  

  • Leadership and organizational abilities  

  • Problem-solving aptitude 

  • Ability to build teams and work across departments 

  • Entrepreneurial spirit; international exposure a plus 

 

 

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS  

 

  • Bachelors Degree; MBA, PhD a plus 

·  5+ Years’ experience in the clinical research industry/healthcare industry 

  • Experience developing and overseeing a development strategy  

·  Proven experience of using state of the art best practices 

·  Knowledge of healthcare, clinical trial, & privacy regulations 

  • Knowledge of industry standards (CDISC, HL7 FHIR) 

·  Ability to work autonomously in a small team environment, including remote teams 

  • Willingness and eagerness to join an entrepreneurial scale-up organization  

 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

 

This job operates in a professional office environment but includes remote employees. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.  

 

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. 

 

Regular local and regional travel is required for this position.
