VP, Analytics

Job summary:

The VP, Analytics will lead a team of data scientists and data engineers to design and develop analytical solutions and machine learning models. The VP will work with management to prioritize business and information needs as well as direct the collection, design, analysis, and development of claim quality performance indicators and interpret data into meaningful performance measures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports.

·       Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

·       Work with business counterparts to understand the business context and requirements and apply them as a basis for the utilization and analysis of data.

·       Gain a deep understanding of the data model, critical data entities, and data elements in the data warehouse, data marts, and related databases.

·       Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources for the purpose of analysis and reporting to business stakeholders.

·       Proactively and aggressively identifies and resolves data quality issues and maintain a robust measurement and reporting audit process for routine reports and measures

·       Build executive and product dashboards to provide visibility and access to key metrics, define targets for KPIs, and track progress against targets

·       Provide strategic thought partnership to the leadership team on corporate growth opportunities

·       Build and manage healthcare claims tools, savings methodologies, and claims-based reporting

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·       A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing data science and data engineering teams in the design and development of advanced analytical solutions.

·       Expertise in data models, data modeling, and ER modeling.

·       Ability to understand the business context and underlying processes, and to correlate them to the data.

·       Deep knowledge and experience with data retrieval and manipulation with SQL queries.

·       Experience with reporting packages (e.g. Qlik, Tableau) and statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports.

·       Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

·       Experience with Data Mining, Journey Analytics, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics & Modeling.

·       Experience with Python, visualization platforms (i.e. Tableau, Qlik), MPP databases.

Education & Qualifications:

·       BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics. A graduate degree is a plus.

·       Excellent communication skills with proven ability in requirements gathering, report writing, and presenting findings.
