Maintenance Assistant: Seeking an energetic and committed candidate to fill the position of Maintenance Assistant in our community.  The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the day to day operations of the facilities management of the community. The primary responsibility is maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the residents.  This is accomplished by having a working knowledge of building systems and related code requirements.  These systems include plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and equipment repair.  This position requires a team player with sound organizational / time management skills, the ability to be "hands on" with the maintenance of the community and interact positively with all team members to meet the community's objectives.

Qualifications:

• Possesses a general understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance
• Possesses a general understanding of fire and life safety regulations
• Possesses the ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident's best interest
• Exhibits a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people
• One year of experience in maintenance preferred
• Able to respond to emergency calls outside normal work hours
• Some technical school education preferred
