PROJECT ENGINEER, SYSTEMS

Purpose

The Systems Project Engineer must effectively and efficiently drive toward successful systems project integrations and professional IT Services to our valued client base. As a subject matter expert for IT solutions, the project engineer provides technical oversight and ensures the project team produces the best possible outcomes for our clients through proper design and implementation. The Project Engineer's deeply specialized knowledge and skills help ensure Corsica's ability to solve even the most complex issues our clients face. The expertise and guidance provided by this role are critical to winning client trust and building the long-term relationships Corsica seeks with all our clients.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include:

·       Provide mentorship and technical oversight to Project Technicians and support Project Engineers.

·       Provide project staging of equipment and software.

·       Communicate effectively with both project management as well as client points of contact and end users.

·       Complete Project Implementation and Deployments.

·       Complete project assignments as tasked (onsite or remote).

·       Provide project status updates to Regional Project Manager daily.

·       Complete client onboarding tasks that include ensuring clients’ systems and networks meet Corsica standards.

·       Complete project discovery tasks to include site surveys and working with clients to understand their needs and then transition findings and client notes to Design Engineer for project scoping.

·       Draft client recommendations to Design Engineer, Technical Account Manager and/or Client Service Manager for review with client.

·       Update project management software daily with progress of project tasks and other assignments.

·       Post-project quality assurance testing assistance.

·       Serve as client point-of-contact for end user training of new systems deployed.

·       Maintain service software documentation and standards.

·       Work with other technical groups and engineers as required.

·       Complete additional Integrations team tasks as assigned by Regional Project Manager.

·       Train team members on new technologies as required for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 to take over support of clients post project.

·       Stay up-to-date with technology through ongoing education.

Competencies and Qualities

Qualified candidates should have experience with many of the following:

·       Windows 7, 10; Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019; Mac experience a plus

·       Active Directory Management

·       Microsoft Exchange

·       Group Policy Management

·       Core networking disciplines such as DNS, DHCP

·       MS Azure and Amazon Web Services

·       AWS cloud services such as EC2 instances, Route 53, S3 storage, AMIs, Volumes, Snapshots, Security Groups, and VPCs

·       Azure Private Cloud Services such as Virtual Networking, Azure Active Directory, Storage Services, Virtual machines, and Cloud Security

·       Microsoft Cloud Solutions such as Office 365, Exchange online, SharePoint, and OneDrive

·       Virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware

·       Backup Platforms

·       SAN / NAS

·       VoIP technology and equipment

·       Varied Client / Server applications

·       Must have top-notch customer service skills

·       Must have excellent organizational and communication skills

·       Must be able to learn new technologies and quickly adapt to new environments

·       Must have critical thinking skills and be able to solve complex problems

·       Must be able to work in a fast pace environment with ability to multitask

·       Must be capable of working onsite alone (with remote assistance as needed) and be able to be resourceful and self-sufficient

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Required

·       Bachelor's Degree in any IT related field OR equivalent technical certifications (MCSA, VMWare VCP, etc.)

·       2+ years of professional experience implementing IT services

·       6+ years of Windows Server level technology experience (Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) as well as the Windows Server Core services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Hyper V)

·       3+ years of Microsoft Cloud Solutions/Services experience

·       Experience creating technical documentation

Preferred

·       2+ year of Linux systems experience

·       2+ years of MAC OS experience

·       Experience working with security compliance standards

·       Additional Technical Certifications

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to supervise work on the primary support board to ensure alignment with Corsica processes.

Work Environment

In most cases, work will be performed in a climate-controlled office space.

Travel

This position will require travel. Most travel will be regional. Occasional overnight travel should be expected. Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving history.

Physical Demands

·       Candidate should be able to lift 50 pounds.

·       Job will require sitting for long periods of time, and may occasionally require bending, lifting, and driving.

Position Type/Expected Hours

This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week. A one-hour lunch break is provided. Shift start times range from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Position may require some on call availability for special projects. Projects may require shifted work hours to complete based on client requirements. Projects may require after normal working hours work to be completed.
