JOB TITLE: Kitchen Utility
DEPARTMENT: Culinary Services
REPORTS TO: Food Service Director
EFFECTIVE DATE: 6/30/2021
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities such as dish and pot washing, general kitchen cleaning, and the storing of food and non-food supplies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operates dishwashing machine to properly wash and sanitize all dishes, silverware, glasses, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Maintains clean, sanitary, clutter free and safe environment in food services areas by sweeping, mopping and pressure washing floors, cleaning and sanitizing dish machine.
• Sets up and maintains dish and pot washing areas.
• Cleans production equipment as needed or directed by supervisor.
• Maintains or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
• Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Attends all in-services as required.
• Records and maintains documentation for the following measures for service standards and regulatory compliance.
• Records dish machine(s) temperatures and sanitizer strength manually.
• Records pot and pan sink temperature and sanitizer strength manually.
• Assists in receiving of food and non-food supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Other skills required:
o One (1) year previous experience preferred.
o Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents.
o Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
o Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
o Interacts with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
