The Grants Manager is responsible for a portfolio of prospective and current funders – foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Meets with health center executives and management to identify funding needs/priorities, to develop proposal strategies, and to gather related information.
- Conducts prospect research among government agencies, foundations, and corporations for funding sources that match the needs of the health center.
- Develops and submits letters of inquiry, proposals, and applications for funding to government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
- Works with outreach team members to identify and document health center stories that may be used for funding proposals.
- Develops and implements grant administration policies and procedures to ensure grant compliance and adherence to best practices.
- Provides information and makes recommendations to health center leadership and management regarding funding trends and upcoming opportunities to assist with setting the organization’s funding priorities.
- Contributes to the development of the organization’s funding priorities to create a strategic funding plan.
- Provides training and assistance to program staff to ensure that they understand the grant cycle and their roles and responsibilities.
- Attends legislative, public, and advocacy group hearings related to possible funding sources or partnerships as needed.
- Prioritizes projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meets deadlines and manages supplemental material required for proposals.
- Maintains reports on progress status of proposals and grants: received, requested, denied and pending.
- Maintains all aspects related to online grant submission and reporting portals with appropriate log-ins and passwords.
- Ensures that funders receive comprehensive reports in accordance with grant contracts and preferences; coordinates with relevant health center staff to collect pertinent data in a consistent and timely manner; periodically audits data collected to ensure accuracy; coordinates with accounting and fiscal staff for needed financial information and data/statistics reports.
- Oversees maintenance of records/documents in accordance with clinic policies and procedures, contractual obligations, and funding sources.
- Analyzes, tracks, and reports on programmatic activity.
Required:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
Three to five years of grant writing and project coordination experience.
