Job Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning the launch of new products in the unit as well as planning campaigns for backlist products.  This position provides the annual marketing budget and is responsible for crafting strategic plans and tactical implementation to help the unit reach its sales goal each year.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead growth marketing operations including, but not limited to, product development recommendations, budget allocations based on data-driven forecasting and projections, and return on investment (ROI) tracking
  • Propose and oversee the yearly marketing budget 
  • Create launch plans for new products in conjunction with Product Owners and other stakeholders
  • Oversee and develop Ascension’s Amazon presence
  • Researching, testing, and implementing improvements to our online store
  • Partner closely with our design team to attract and retain new users to the platform
  • Maintain and optimize store pages on our online shop
  • Test, analyze, and scale new marketing tactics and initiatives to increase site traffic and broaden Ascension’s brand reach
  • Develop marketing strategies and goals for specific market segments and needs
  • Leverage owned marketing and media channels to drive revenue
  • Coordinate online and print marketing campaigns with supporting activities and gauge effectiveness
  • Work with other teams to manage and improve lead generation campaigns
  • Maintain consistent internal communications to ensure that internal stakeholders and senior management are kept informed of activities and plans
 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field 
  • 5+ years experience in digital marketing, publishing, media relations, promotions, or related field needed
  • Good understanding of core digital marketing functions especially in a direct to consumers context
  • Data and ROI-driven mindset.  Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Proven record of constantly iterating and experimenting to find the best results
  • Branding and project management experience
  • Thorough understanding of online content marketing and social media development strategies
  • Team player with the ability and interest to mentor others
  • Collaborative problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with the Catholic market is a plus
  • Occasional travel is necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills are needed
  • Understand, practice, and exemplify Ascension’s values and mission
