Position Description

The Modeling and Simulation Specialist will provide support to the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Support Services within the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) at Camp Pendleton, CA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks assessing operational relevance, system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement / mission-level scenarios.
  • Develop performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models for new and/or existing system simulation frameworks.
  • Administer, operate, and maintain the suite of commercial and military modeling and simulation systems to include Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool (MLST3), Wrap Around Simulation Program (WASP), and Extensible Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integrated (C4I) Instrumentation Suite (ExCIS).
  • Implement the ports, protocols, and policies that are associated with modeling and simulation such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and/or High-Level Architecture (HLA) and connections to Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (such as engineering, computer science, etc.). OR equivalent work experience
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience operating the suite of commercial and military modeling and simulation systems to include Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool (MLST3), Wrap Around Simulation Program (WASP), and Extensible Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integrated (C4I) Instrumentation Suite (ExCIS).
  • Experience with PM Training Systems (VBS3, DVTE, MTWS, CACCTUS), JSAF, JSAP, JBUS, J-CATS, and / or Joint Training Environment Network (Air, Ground, Fires) is a plus.
  • Previous work experience with MCTSSA is a plus.
  • Experience implementing the ports, protocols, and policies that are associated with modeling and simulation such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and/or High-Level Architecture (HLA) and connections to Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and SharePoint

 

Travel Requirements

Travel may be required to OCONUS (Hawaii and Japan) and CONUS. CONUS travel forecast is approximately six (6) trips annually for five days per trip. OCONUS travel forecast is for three (3) trips annually, for 10 days per trip
