Position Description
The Fires Application Subject Matter Expert will provide ground C2 support to the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Support Services within the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) at Camp Pendleton, CA.
Responsibilities
- Design network architectures that support integrating multiple ground C2 systems for contribution to a common operational picture.
- Operate primary ground C2 applications such as; Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Joint Tactical COP Workstation (JTCW) with Effects Management Tool (EMT), Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT), and Target Handoff System version 2 (THSv2).
- Participate in network architecture and system application integration meetings as required to discuss connectivity/readiness in support of test events.
- Integrate ground C2 applications with aviation C2 systems for a common operational picture.
- Setup networks and operate ground C2 applications such as: Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Joint Tactical COP Workstation (JTCW) with Effects Management Tool (EMT), 4 Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT), and Target Handoff System version 2 (THSv2) that contribute to a common operational picture.
- Perform system administration on ground C2 applications and systems.
- Troubleshoot ground C2 systems, networks, and the common operational picture
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (such as engineering, computer science, etc.). OR equivalent work experience
- IAT Level II Certification preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in designing network architectures support multiple ground C2 systems.
- Previous work experience with MCTSSA is a plus.
- Experience with setup, provide system administration, and operate AFATDS, JTCW with EMT, JADOCS, JTT and THSv2.
- Expertise in the integration of ground C2 applications with aviation C2 systems of the COP.
- Experience troubleshooting C2 systems, networks and the COP.
- Ability to configure virtualized server computing environment.
- Administer Windows, LINUX, Android based systems, and data system host security measures
- Experience with Classified Material Control Custodian (CMCC) responsibilities.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Travel Requirements
Travel may be required to OCONUS (Hawaii and Japan) and CONUS. CONUS travel forecast is approximately six (6) trips annually for five days per trip. OCONUS travel forecast is for three (3) trips annually, for 10 days per trip
