OFFICIAL TITLE: Program Assistant, Resource and Referral
Salary: $17.00/hr. + Comprehensible benefit package (please see below for full benefits offered details).

Work location: Administrative Offices - Mid Wilshire, Los Angeles
Schedule: Hybrid, 2 days/week in office / 3 days/week work from home!
Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours/week. Occasional weekends and/or evenings.


Primary duties: To provide administrative support to the Resource and Referral department; inclusive of providing child care referrals to families seeking child care, and data entry for families eligible for subsidized child care.

Other duties:

  • Complete accurate intake and data entry for families eligible for subsidized child care.
  • Provide technical assistance to families, child care providers; including information in the areas of choosing quality child care, childcare options, licensing requirements, etc.
  • Maintain current and accurate information on licensed child care providers within our service area.
  • Develop and maintain current and accurate information on family support services; including child care provider and community resources and consumer education materials.
  • Assist in maintaining the accuracy of R&R databases for referral, data collection, and reporting purposes.
  • Support workshop preparation; including maintaining reservation list, coordinate room schedules, set up and clean up, greeting and sign-in, and document preparation, etc.
  • Participate in monitoring and updating the Resource Library.
  • Coordinate mass mailing and automatic phone call messaging as applicable.
  • Coordinate and assist with special events as needed.
  • Assist other departments as appropriate and required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
Minimum two years general office experience required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Strong Customer Service skills. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Proficiency in Windows based programs and data entry experience.
Position requires some travel and evening and weekend hours.
Bilingual English/Armenian not required but preferred.
Must present proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Vacation & Sick Time

  • 10 days of Vacation per year for the first 2 years of service. Accrual at start.
  • 10 Sick Days per year. Accrual at start.

Holidays

  • 11 Holidays – no waiting period.
  • 18 Paid Hours early release – no waiting period.
