The Registered Dietitian will plan and conduct nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease.
Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.- Conduct nutrition assessments and provide education to patients.
- Educate patients and family members as well as facility staff in concepts of nutrition.
- Assess effectiveness of nutrition counseling content and revise as needed.
- Document within the patient’s electronic medical health record system and other data systems as required.
- Consult with primary care physician as needed.
- Develop, secure, and maintain any equipment or instructional materials needed to conduct nutritional sessions.
- Participate in the design, implementation and analysis of program evaluation system and quality assurance plan.
- Be available to consult with staff for questions concerning nutritional information for clients.
- Provide and facilitate referrals and resources to ongoing social and healthcare services.
- Collect and report monthly statistics.
Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Public Health, or related area.
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and licensed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a healthcare system.
