JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for the monthly close process. Provides directional oversight and management of transactional accounting. Develops and maintains accounting principles, best practices and internal controls. Must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accounting manager will participate in additional projects as assigned by the Controller.
RESPONSIBILITES- Perform, manage and provide leadership over day-to-day accounting functions, including cash accounts, accounts payable, journal entries and account reconciliations within established timelines
- Prepare month-end balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned by the Controller
- Manage the month-end close process to timely completion
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Perform month-end review of balance sheet reconciliation and income statement variance analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly management dashboard reporting
- Review payroll for bi-weekly processing and record payroll journal entries
- Maintain and oversee all accounting policies, procedures and processes
- Establish an internal control environment to ensure safeguarding of assets and accurate financial reporting
- Manage statutory reporting requirements
- Manages projects associated with the continuous accounting process and NetSuite ERP improvements
- Support the annual review, audits and tax return process
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
- Previous public and private experience as an Accounting Manager
- Experience with a fast-paced, multi-subsidiary environment
- NetSuite ERP experience strongly preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Moderate (10-25%) travel is required for this position.
