Texas Gas Utility Services, Inc. is a privately-held growth entity focused on bringing critical natural gas infrastructure to developing markets across Texas. The Company is currently focused on rapidly expanding the availability of safe, reliable, and affordable natural gas and fiber optic telecommunication services to residential and commercial customers.

The Human Resource Generalist / Recruiter is responsible for providing Human Resources and Recruiting support for all Company departments. The HRG will work closely with the Human Resources Director to carry out all organizational needs. This position holds responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, training, and HR administration. The HR Generalist is also responsible for coaching and giving feedback to supervisors in regard to employee matters and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, and training and development.
  2. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and retention.
  3. Conducts full-cycle recruitment processes, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interview scheduling, offer/process documentation, and background checks.
  4. Review timekeeping and employee records weekly to ensure accuracy and train supervisors and employees as needed; submit payroll memos as necessary to the payroll department.
  5. Facilitate new hire orientation and facilitate new employee onboarding activities.
  6. Stay up to date on all federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure compliance and notify the Director of any changes.
  7. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  8. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  9. Prepare new hire offer letters and packages.
  10. Process and onboard all new hires for payroll and benefits.
  11. Oversee and maintain all correspondence for the company HRIS and Applicant Tracking System (Brightmove).
  12. Be a point of contact for employees, managers, and partners regarding HR inquiries.
  13. Support in the development of company policies and HR-related procedures.
  14. Support in payroll and benefits administrative tasks and responding to discrepancies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

               Equivalent Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area of study.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a generalist, recruiter, or similar HR position
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and benefits. 
  • Knowledge of employment laws, practices, and government regulations. 
  • Experience working with Applicant tracking and HRIS software.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, coaching and organization. 
  • Displays energy, enthusiasm, and ingenuity. Creates a productive, positive atmosphere which influences others. 
  • Ability to travel to travel up to 25%
