JOB SUMMARY
The Web Developer will be working as part of a growing team of individuals that delivers excellent digital products and experiences to clients, stakeholders, and end users. This individual will work with internal and cross-functional teams and is responsible for developing client websites and internal applications/tools to support the websites. These solutions are for Elligo Customers, are revenue-generating, and support a high-growth team.
This is a web-focused technical generalist position which requires an understanding of many facets of building, maintaining, and scaling website development. Successful candidates will have a strong sense of ownership, detail-oriented approach, enjoy driving customer projects to successful completion, and can effectively communicate in both technical and business-oriented settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Work independently and as part of the web development team to deliver client-facing & internal websites, applications, and tools.
- Develop custom tools to aid in scaling client website development.
- Be able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Lead discussions around feasibility and timelines for projects.
- Respond to and resolve bugs and issues raised by clients and internal team members.
- Develop and conduct automated and manual tests.
- Develop and contribute to documentation and process improvements throughout the web development team.
- Work with Project Managers and stakeholders to support translations and localization for client websites.
- Follow and set best practices for frontend and backend codebases.
- Collaborate with Graphic Designers and Project Managers to review prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited college or university; In lieu of education, 4+ years of experience will be required
- 3+ years of experience writing clean, production-ready code and any combination of the following:
- Frontend: Responsive design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JS libraries/frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
- Backend: RESTful APIs, PHP (WordPress), Python (Django, Flask), Node.js
- Databases: Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or non-Relational databases (MongoDB)
- CMS: Experience building a custom CMS, WordPress, Craft CMS
- Infrastructure: Hosted VPS, cPanel, and AWS
- Version Control: Git and GitHub
- Website & App Localization: XLIFF files, multi-language, and multi-region websites
- Testing: End-to-end tests, unit tests, Browserstack
- Project Management: Agile methodology, JIRA, Monday.com
- Documentation: Readmes, Wikis and Confluence
- Good presentation and leadership skills
- Clinical research or healthcare experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with the following is preferred but not required:
- Web Accessibility (WCAG 2.0/2.1, Section 508 Compliance)
- HIPAA and GDPR Compliance
- DevOps Tools (Github Actions, CircleCI, Kubernetes)
- CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less, Stylus)
- SEO
- Google Analytics
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
